About

I am Adjunct Senior Lecturer/Research Associate in Religious Studies at Waikato University, and also Hon. Research Fellow in Jewish Studies and History at UCL, London. This year I am also Lecturer in New Testament at King's College London. I am currently working on two scholarly books, one is a commentary on Philo of Alexandria's De Vita Contemplativa (about the Therapeutae, a contemporary group to the early disciples of Jesus) and another is on ancient healing practices within the Dead Sea scrolls and around the Dead Sea region. I write also poetry and fiction (the latter are not included in my scholarly c.v.).
Names I publish under: Joan E. Taylor, Joan Taylor or Joan Norlev Taylor.
